RECREATION
Redditch has no shortage of leisure and cultural venues. For the sporting, the Borough Council owns and operates two swimming pools, four leisure centres and a golf course. The Abbey Stadium Sports Centre boasts an eight lane athletics track, as well as facilities for racquet sports, trampolining, aerobics, specialist clubs and classes (such as Kick Boxing), outside pitches and courts for tennis, netball, and bowls.

The town also boasts its fair share of cultural attractions. Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre is an archaeological site museum telling the story of the Cistercian abbey which was so important in the early years of Redditch, while Forge Mill Museum tells the history of another, equally important chapter in Redditch's story: needle making. The new £1m Countryside Centre in Arrow Valley includes countryside and wildlife displays and exhibitions, a fish tank installation, canoeing and sailing.

For evening entertainment, the town's Palace Theatre hosts a wide variety of events, from pop concerts to repertory theatre, kids' shows to classical concerts, and the town centre has a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, clubs and cafes to suit most tastes. There is also a three screen cinema in the town centre.

Redditch hosts a variety of annual events, including a Folk Festival in June and a Medieval Street Market in April. On top of all this, Birmingham, the UK's second largest city, is only half an hour distant, bringing an enormous range of leisure, recreational and cultural activities within easy reach.
